Programs to Reduce Tuition Cost
SCRIP - Gift Cards
Scrip is a term that means “substitute money”. The Great Lakes Scrip Center acts on behalf of GCS to purchase large amounts of scrip from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers. Because the scrip is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount. Our organization buys the scrip from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount, and re-sells the certificates to families like yours for full face value. The discount ‑ from two to fifteen percent or more – is our organization’s revenue which is split with you as a GCS family. Money earned by your family is taken off of your tuition or other school function fees! See our SCRIP page for more information.
Family Service Program - New 2020-2021 School Year
Program Mission
The Family Service Program is designed to bring families of the school together to improve and enhance our students’ education. Through the efforts of our families we will be able to provide a better support system for our students as well as providing needed services that will help offset tuition.
Specifics
Each family with a 1st through 12th grade student will have the opportunity to earn a tuition discount by volunteering for various qualifying activities. Each family can earn $10 per unit of service up to $200 for families with 1-2 enrolled students, plus $100 per child for families with 3 or more students.
There are many areas of service from which to choose, some of which your family may already be involved! Your family’s service units will be posted on a monthly basis in your RenWeb Family Portal. This will allow you to easily track your accumulated units of service for the current school year. Discounts earned will be applied to your family account annually. Please see Family Service Program Flyer for qualifying activities.
